2025 Arizona Diamondbacks Season Preview & Betting Odds

The Diamondbacks fell just short of a playoff spot last year, losing out on the final day of the season via tiebreak. But, this is still a young team on the rise, and they added Josh Naylor and Corbin Burnes in the offseason. It sure seems like the Snakes have the type of core that can take a big step in 2025.

In this 2025 Arizona Diamondbacks season preview, I’ll break down their latest odds, key projections, and the best bets for their upcoming campaign.

We all know the Dodgers will win the NL West, so we can stay away from that market. But, I do love the DBacks in World Series and NL Pennant odds.

Arizona has all the makings of a winning team this year. They’ve got a deep and balanced lineup with studs like Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte at the top.The rotation might be one of the best in all of baseball, starting with Corbin Burnes, Zac Gallen, and Merrill Kelly. Even the bullpen has high potential with studs like AJ Puk and Justin Martinez. This is a well-rounded team that can make the exact kind of deep October run we saw them go on in 2023. I’m snapping up all the WS and NL futures value.

2025 DBacks Win Total Odds

2025 Diamondbacks win total
2025 Win Total OVER UNDER
86.5 -122 -102

Odds as of March 25th from BetMGM

The Diamondbacks finished with 89 wins last year and narrowly missed on the postseason. They nearly got to October despite brutal and injured pitching in both the rotation and bullpen. Arizona’s rotation ERA ranked 27th and bullpen 25th. The hurlers in the desert just won’t be that bad this year. So, with Arizona already finding a way OVER this 86.5 win mark last year with all those difficulties, this is an easy OVER for me. Frankly, I’d bet them to get OVER 89.5 wins, too.

2025 DBacks Playoff Odds

DBacks Playoff Odds
To Make Playoffs To Miss Playoffs
-120 -104

Odds as of March 25th

It’s going to be hard for any borderline NL team to make the playoffs this year, with squads like the Dodgers, Phillies, and the NL Central winner all looking like October locks. I’d probably even have the Braves and Mets above the DBacks in playoff likelihood. But, that still leaves at least one spot for the Padres, Diamondbacks, and Cubs. I do think Arizona has the depth and talent to be that team, but it’s hard to justify a playoff bet at -120. I’d rather take the upside swings on the DBacks win total and NL/WS futures.

Ketel Marte finished third in NL MVP voting last year with 55% of the vote share (just behind second-place Francisco Lindor), so there’s clearly MVP upside here. But, I think the better wager to upset Ohtani in the MVP voting is actually Carroll. While the Arizona outfielder didn’t have his best 162-game season last year, Carroll overcame a terrible first half to finish well overall. In the second part of the season, Carroll had 17 homers, 17 stolen bases, and a .919 OPS in 64 games. If you stretch that over 162, that’s the type of 40/40 season that can win you an MVP. If second-half Carroll shows up all year in 2025, he’s got a top award in him.

I also back a Burnes Cy Young bet, as he’s always in contention for this award. He’s playing in a tough division with strong offenses, but Burnes hasn’t posted an ERA over 3.4 in the last five years and has Cy votes in each of those seasons.
