We’ll have some more NFL Draft props and later pick odds come out as they’re posted, but for now all eyes are at the top. Who will go first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft? Cam Ward is favored at -125, but could Shedeur Sanders or a surprise like Travis Hunter take top spot?

DE Abdul Carter | +1800 |

Odds as of Jan 16th, 2024 from FanDuel
These NFL Draft odds show that Miami QB Cam Ward is currently the favorite to go first overall.
After transferring from Washington State last year, Ward led the nation with 39 passing touchdowns this season, posting a solid 67.2% completion rate and throwing the ball deeper than any other passer in his conference. He’s not as hyped of a prospect as Caleb Williams, as he’s not the dynamic running threat. Instead, Ward has drawn comparisons to Big Ben and Baker Mayfield — both high picks and successful NFL products.
He’s the safe pick at 1.1, but certainly not as sexy as some of the other options.

Could Travis Hunter Surprise As 1st Overall Pick?
If Cam Ward isn’t selected first overall, I’ve gotta think it’ll be the reigning Heisman winner and two-way star in Travis Hunter — even ahead of a guy like Shedeur Sanders. The odds disagree, having Hunter at +1000, but Hunter’s skillset is unparalleled. I could see a team falling in love with him, just like the public and Heisman voters did.
Hunter is unlike any prospect we’ve ever seen. He led his conference in receptions (96) and touchdowns (15) as a receiver and posted four interceptions and 11 passes defended as a corner. Figuring out the best way to use him will be a tough task, but he’s undoubtably the most interesting prospect in this draft class.
But, with the Titans clearly needing a new QB and having the first pick, it’s hard to see them taking Hunter. The only way I see the CB/WR going first would be a trade up, and I don’t think that’s off the table.
Could we See a Trade Up For 1st Overall?
We’ve seen 13 trades for the first overall pick in NFL Draft history, so it’s not unfathomable that this selection gets swapped. We’ve already seen some rumors of the Dallas Cowboys hiring Deion Sanders and trading up to select one of his college players! Plus, the Titans do need a lot more than just a QB to turn that franchise around.
If we see any team trade up for 1.1, I think that skyrockets the chances that Hunter or Sanders is taken first. If you believe that the Cowboys or another squad is willing to make that move, the first overall pick odds on those Colorado stars are pretty juicy, right now.
