We’re starting off the week with some NHL player props.
I’ve broken down some key NHL betting trends for tonight’s hockey contests. Below, I’ve compiled a bunch of player and team trends with help from Outlier, as well as some NHL prop picks below for March 3rd:
March 3rd NHL Player Trends

Taking the above trends alongside some more in-depth handicapping, here are two picks I’m focused on for tonight’s NHL games:
Tampa’s Jake Guentzel UNDER 2.5 shots (-168 at FanDuel)
Guentzel has been on a cold streak coming out of the 4 Nations break. He hasn’t broken 2.5 shots in the four games since the break, averaging just 1.5 per contest in that stretch. Guentzel has gone OVER 2.5 SOG just once in his last seven games and hasn’t beaten the mark in his last five games against top-10 defenses.
Tonight, Guentzel faces a Panthers defense that is a top-10 squad in shots allowed and, specifically, lets up the fifth-fewest shots to opposing left wings. With Seth Jones now in the fold, that defense will only get better, too.

NYI’s Brock Nelson OVER 0.5 Assists (+150 at FanDuel)
Coming out of the 4 Nations break, Brock Nelson has been on a heater. He’s scored six points (two goals) in the last four contests, despite not registering a single point with USA in the 4 Nations tournament.
Nelson does play Igor Shesterkin and the Rangers tonight. But, that’s not as scary as it may seem. The Rangers have allowed three goals per game in the last eight contests and Shesterkin has an .872 save percentage and has allowed 3.25 goals per outing in that stretch.
Nelson has points in his last two games against the Rangers, too.
