Mavericks vs. Grizzlies Play-In Player Props: April 18, 2025

The Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies will do battle at the FedExForum on Friday night for the right to play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs, and we’ve put together three expert player prop picks for this final matchup in the Western Conference play-in tournament bracket.

Here are the player props for your consideration, including a 3-pointers made prop for Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane (-136) on April 18, 2025.

Preview: Dallas Mavericks vs. Memphis Grizzlies, 9:30 p.m. ET

Desmond Bane OVER 2.5 Made 3-Pointers (-136 at FanDuel)

While superstar point guard Ja Morant is expected to suit up after tweaking his ankle on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors, it’s highly doubtful he’ll be 100 percent, therefore thrusting more pressure onto the shoulders of teammate Desmond Bane to do more of the heavy lifting offensively. That shouldn’t be too much to ask of him, though, as Bane just had a team-high 30 points in 39 minutes at the Chase Center.

Literally half of that offense came from 3-point range, as Bane converted five of his eight attempts from behind the arc to extend his personal streak of games with at least three makes from distance to five. Doing so again on Friday versus Dallas would push that streak even further, even though history would suggest he won’t after drilling exactly two in each of his three appearances against the Mavericks during the regular season.

Bane averaged 2.4 3-pointers on 5.9 attempts at a 40.6-percent clip in Memphis, which was marginally better to how he fared on the road (2.3 makes on 6.2 attempts at a 38-percent clip). He’s buried at least four in four of his last five home games, so making at least three shouldn’t be a problem.

Zach Edey OVER 12.5 Rebounds vs. Mavericks (-125 at FanDuel)

We won’t stop wagering on Zach Edey rebounding props until the number becomes so astronomically high that it wouldn’t make feasible sense to put money down. Then again, with the degree of output in which the 7-foot-4 giant keeps contributing since the dismissal of former head coach Taylor Jenkins, there may not be a true ceiling to what he can achieve in this department.

Edey saw the floor for 33 minutes in the recent play-in loss to the Warriors, grabbing 17 rebounds and seven on the offensive glass to lead all players. No one on the opposition finished with more than eight, so the 22-year-old more than doubled up the strongest number from anyone on Golden State, albeit in a losing effort.

Dallas closed out the campain ranking in the bottom-third of the Association in opponent’s rebounds per game at 45.9 (21st) over its last eight games, and Edey averaged 15.7 rebounds over his last seven appearances (sans the play-in) under interim coach Tuomas lisalo. Even though the Mavericks beat the Sacramento Kings by 14 points on Wednesday, they were still outrebounded 44-41 and 15-10 for offensive boards.

P.J. Washington OVER 6.5 Rebounds vs. Grizzlies (-102 at FanDuel)

Speaking of rebounds, Mavericks forward P.J. Washington just had nine against the Kings in 37 minutes to tie for the lead on the team alongside Anthony Davis. That was the 15th time he’s played since the All-Star break, and in those 15 outings, Washington has grabbed nine or more boards only four times.

Thankfully, that’s not what’s being asked of him on Friday as oddsmakers have his line at 6.5 with an OVER being nearly even value. For games in which Washington had at least seven rebounds during that aforementioned stretch, the 26-year-old forward pulled it off on seven occasions.

What makes this bet more appealing is that Washington finished with no fewer than eight rebounds in each of the two games he played the Grizzlies this season, topping out at 10 in Memphis on Jan. 6. If Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford continue to see their minutes held back in Dallas’ rotation, then the door will remain open for Washington to produce greater rebounding lines as a result.
