MLB Player Props Today: April 23, 2025

Today’s MLB player props focus on two of the three true outcomes. I’m betting strikeouts and home runs, with a fade on an AL starter and a longshot bet on an NL slugger.

Below, find our best MLB player prop bets for Wednesday, April 23, 2025:

MLB player Props Today

Carlos Rodon UNDER 6.5 Strikeouts (-140 At FanDuel)

Carlos Rodon has averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game this season, with 37 strikeouts over 29 innings pitched. However, he faces a Cleveland Guardians lineup known for its contact-hitting approach, potentially limiting his strikeout opportunities. For example, the Guards rank sixth in MLB in strikeout rate over the last 15 games.

Rodon has tapped into his best stuff, but this is a good opportunity to fade him at -140 odds. Historically, Cleveland has hit him well, too. Active Guards hitters own a .786 lifetime OPS vs Rodon. While that’s not super influential, the 15.5% K rate in 110 at-bats is much more pertinent as it suggests Cleveland’s hitters see Rodon well. Jose Ramirez, for example, has struck out just four times in 48 at-bats vs Rodon.

Eugenio Suarez To Hit a Home Run (+450 At FanDuel)

It’s been a tough go lately for Suarez, whose .152 batting average drags down a slash line that looks good with some power numbers. He has homered six times in 23 games (.418 SLG), but the contact hasn’t been there lately. We all know how hot Suarez gets when he dials in.

I suspect Wednesday will be a breakout for Suarez, mostly because of the pitching matchup. Taj Bradley starts for Tampa, and Suarez is 2-for-5 lifetime vs him with two homers. Bradley’s been no saint this year either, with three homers allowed in four starts and a 5.24 ERA.
