NBA Player Props Today: January 21, 2025

With just five games scheduled in the NBA on Tuesday night, scouring the market for value player props becomes slightly more challenging, but the hope here is that I’ve discovered three to boost your units and make the most out of little.

Here are the three expert picks in question, including a combination points and rebounds prop for New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges (-106) as his former team visits Madison Square Garden on January 21, 2025.

Mikal Bridges OVER 20.5 Points + Rebounds vs. Nets (-106)

Preview: Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks, 7:30 p.m. ET

The Knicks have a quick turnaround after defeating the Atlanta Hawks early Monday afternoon by nine points at home, with Bridges connecting on 12 of his 17 shot attempts to finish with 26 points in just 27 minutes of action. It was the third time in four games that he’s scored 23 or more points and the third game in a row that he’s taken at least 17 shots.

He’ll need 21 combined points and rebounds against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, who Bridges spent the past two years suiting up for prior to the two teams completing a blockbuster summer trade. He’s seen them twice already this season, averaging 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 43.1 minutes of action with a pair of OVERs for this exact prop. In fact, Bridges has only finished with five or more boards 10 times in 2024-25, but two of those performances came against the Nets.

The 28-year-old wing has also gone OVER this number four out of five times when playing on no rest, as well.

Wendell Carter Jr. To Record A Double-Double vs. Raptors (+170)

Preview: Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:30 p.m. ET

The Orlando Magic have been without starting center Goga Bitadze over the last three games as he’s currently in concussion protocol, and Tuesday will mark his fourth-straight absence which therefore continues to thrust Wendell Carter Jr. into a more substantial role in the frontcourt.

With Bitadze sidlined, Carter Jr. has averaged 14.3 points with 10.7 rebounds while leading Orlando in minutes at 33.7 per contest. He’s achieved a pair of double-doubles during this time, which he’ll need against Toronto to nail this plus-money bet, and for the one instance in which he fell short, it was just by a single rebound in a blowout loss to the Boston Celtics.

The Magic just don’t have a ton of options at the moment with Bitadze out, along with Franz Wagner, Moritz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs. Carter Jr. is arguably the team’s most versatile player currently around outside of All-Star forward Paolo Banchero, which explains why he’s getting an increased run as of late.

LeBron James UNDER 16.5 Rebounds + Assists vs. Wizards (-111)

Preview: Washington Wizards vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET

Playing the Washington Wizards can usually be a trap as they’re far and away the worst team in the Association, so logically one would think that any team standing across from them would be in store for big numbers. However, should blowouts occur, head coaches would be more inclined to sit their regulars, making it difficult to determine whether or not taking OVERs is the correct direction to lean.

In the case of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, his recent output would suggest he’s going to go UNDER his combined rebounds and assists prop of 16.5 anyway. He’s done exactly that in four-straight games and eight of his last 10 appearances, and James also failed to go OVER in two meetings with the Wizards last season, as well.
