Jaylen Brown UNDER 22.5 Points -125
Jayson Tatum’s injury thrusts Brown into the spotlight. In seven games without Tatum this season, Jaylen Brown averaged just 22.9 points. The NBA Finals MVP shot only 24.3% from deep in those contests, and will find space hard to come by against Orlando’s stifling defense tonight.
Additionally, Brown has crossed his 22.5 point line in just three of his last 10 games, while averaging 15.7 points a night. Remember, Brown has been hampered by a right knee injury that has cost him multiple games throughout the last few weeks of the season. He reportedly received injections to help deal with the pain, but will still be feeling the effects of the injury in this first-round series.
With the Magic vs Celtics total sitting at a lowly 196.5 points, I’m fading Brown tonight.
Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers OVER 108.5 First-Half Points -110
Heat vs Cavaliers first-half total OVER 108.5 points is one of my favorite bets of the evening. Both the Heat and Cavaliers have surpassed 108.5 first-half points in eight of their last 10 games.
On top of that, the Heat averaged 110.07 first-half points in their games this season, while Cleveland averaged nearly 116. Sunday’s Miami vs Cleveland first-half saw 116 points scored, and there’s little reason to believe that changes in Game 2. Each team shot an identical 42% from three for the game, and while we may see some variance, the scoring should be plentiful tonight.
Jimmy Butler UNDER 6.5 Assists -188
Jimmy Butler has been a man reborn in Golden State. “Playoff Jimmy” and Steph Curry led the Warriors to a Game 1 victory.
However, Butler has now failed to surpass six assists in seven of his past 10 games, while averaging five a night. Tonight’s Warriors vs Heat total sits at just 204.5 points, point towards a defensive showdown at the Toyota Center.
Ime Udoka is an excellent defensive coach, who will have counters for the Jimmy centric Warriors sets from Game 1. The Rockets absolutely need to win this contest, so they’ll force Golden State into far most questionable looks tonight. Expect to see far more effort from Houston on the defensive end. Fade Jimmy Butler’s assists prop as the final leg of our NBA playoff same-game parlay.
