Premier League betting: A 26/1 Saturday four-fold

Phil Agius’ selections for this weekend’s Premier League action include away wins for both Man City and Everton

There are six Premier League matches on Saturday, with the lunchtime kick-off between Nottingham Forest and Manchester City the highlight of the top-flight action.

Later on, there’s a top versus bottom clash as leaders Liverpool host Southampton, while relegation-threatened Wolves host Everton at Molineux.

We have four football betting selections to consider for Saturday’s top-flight action.

Saturday Premier League tips

Manchester City to beat Nottingham Forest 35/40
Under 3.5 goals in Liverpool v Southampton 6/5
Brentford to beat Aston Villa 13/10
Everton to beat Wolves 15/8

Manchester City to beat Nottingham Forest

Premier League champions Manchester City have fallen way below expectations this season, while Nottingham Forest have vastly exceeded their initial hopes for the campaign.

City’s chances of retaining their title have faded, but Pep Guardiola’s men could strike a blow in the battle for a top-five finish.

There is no doubt that the level of their performances has dropped this season, but perhaps not as much as the odds for City to win at the City Ground suggest.

Forest have won only two of their last seven Premier League matches, and while the Tricky Trees held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were clearly second-best in that contest.

City should be fresh after rotating their squad for last weekend’s FA Cup tie against Plymouth and not having a midweek fixture and that should serve them well on Saturday.

Under 3.5 goals in Liverpool v Southampton

League leaders Liverpool take on bottom side Southampton at Anfield, but it may not be quite as simple as the Premier League table suggests.

The Reds were run ragged in their valuable but fortunate 1-0 Champions League win over PSG on Wednesday. They lost the shot count 27-2, the corner count 14-2 and conceded 70 per cent of the possession, and that gruelling contest could leave its mark.

There have to be doubts over Southampton’s ability to take advantage of a below-par Liverpool side, but it could pay to back this contest to stay under 3.5 goals.

Brentford to beat Aston Villa

Aston Villa overcame Club Brugge 3-1 in Belgium on Wednesday night, but that was a tough Champions League tie and Villa could be vulnerable at Brentford.

Unai Emery’s men have lost nine of their last 13 away matches and that makes them poor value to succeed against the Bees.

Brentford have lost only one of their last five top-flight matches and Thomas Frank’s men performed perfectly well when drawing 1-1 with Everton last weekend.

Everton to beat Wolves

Wolves will be without their best player and key goalscorer Matheus Cunha when they host Everton on Saturday due to the Brazilian’s red card against Bournemouth last weekend, and that looks a major negative for Vítor Pereira’s men.

Everton are unbeaten in their last eight matches and they appear a rejuvenated side under David Moyes. The Toffees are a nice price to win at Molineux.
