Listen, there’s very little value on betting the Kansas City Chiefs to make their third straight Super Bowl appearance. Of course, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are more than capable of doing so. However, only three teams have made three straight Super Bowl appearances – the 71-73 Dolphins, 90-93 Bills and 2016-18 Patriots. And none of those teams won three straight championships.
I advised you to bet Bills vs Eagles and Ravens vs Eagles a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the odds for those contests have dropped dramatically from +1600 to +750 and +700 respectively in just two short weeks. But, I still like the value on both as the NFL world aims to unseat the Chiefs as Super Bowl champs. Having said that, there’s another matchup I like even better.
Super Bowl 59 Exact Matchup Best Bet: Ravens vs Lions +550
NFL football is increasingly an offense-first game. The very best teams at finding the end zone win far more than they lose in the modern NFL.
Baltimore’s offense has been transformed in their second season under coordinator Todd Monken. Lamar Jackson is a certified candidate to win his second-straight NFL MVP award, and the Ravens are rolling on all cylinders. Baltimore finished first in total yards, yards per play, yards per rush, and red zone scoring percentage this season. Additionally, the Ravens led the league in EPA per play and finished third in points per game (30.3). Oh, and Derrick Henry is nigh on impossible to tackle.

Not to be outdone, the Ravens defense has turned in a menacing unit as the season has progressed. Since Week 10, the Ravens have surrendered just 15.4 points per game, 261.7 yards per game and 171.5 passing yards per contest. Defensive coordinator Zach Orr moved Kyle Hamilton back to deep safety and the results speak for themselves. This Ravens team is an absolute beast.

Meanwhile, all Detroit has done is lay waste to their schedule. Ben Johnson’s offense led the league in points per game at 33.2. Plus, the Lions finished in the top-four in yards, points, third-down conversion percentage, and red-zone scoring percentage. Jahmyr Gibbs has developed into one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
Detroit’s talent in the trenches will keep them in every game as the Lions progress through the playoffs. They’re the Super Bowl favorite for a reason, and a great bet to make the big game. At +550, Ravens vs Lions is my favorite Super Bowl 59 exact matchup bet.
