Super Bowl MVP 59 Odds: Barkley Best MVP Value
We’ve reached the Championship Round of the NFL playoffs, so it’s time to look into 2025 Super Bowl 59 MVP odds.
Patrick Mahomes has won back-to-back Super Bowl MVPs with the Chiefs, but is no longer the favorite for this year’s award. Josh Allen leads the odds, sitting at +260 at FanDuel. But, I see plenty of other value down the Super Bowl MVP odds board, including Saquon Barkley (+500):

Super Bowl 59 MVP Best Bet: Patrick Mahomes (+270)
How do you bet against this guy?
All Patrick Mahomes has done during his NFL career is show up in the playoffs. He’s won three Super Bowls and three Super Bowl MVPs in just eight seasons. In the regular season, he averages 288.9 passing yards per game and touchdowns on 4.5% of his passes. In the playoffs, when the games get harder, Mahomes is still at 285.3 yards per game and an improved 6.1% touchdown rate.

I think a lot of people are going to look past Mahomes because he wasn’t amazing during this regular season, but the KC passer clearly flipped the switch in the back half of the campaign. After a November loss to the Bills (KC’s only real loss of the season), Mahomes finished the year with 11 touchdowns and no picks in the final six games.
He didn’t really need to ball out against a weak Texans team last week, but we know Mahomes rises to occasions like the AFC Championship and Super Bowl. Expect a big step up from Patrick, now.

Super Bowl MVP Value Pick: Saquon Barkley (+500)
We haven’t seen a running back win this award since Terrell Davis in 1997, but I think Saquon has what it takes. I snagged him at +1500 last week, but still think there’s some value here.
For starters, he plays for a Eagles team I really think can get to the Super Bowl. The Eagles finished the season with the second-best point differential in football and were top-six in both offensive and defensive EPA. Plus, Philly’s biggest NFC rival, the Lions, just got taken out by a low seed.
Plus, on an individual level Saquon has been tearing it up all season. He’s probably going to finish third in NFL MVP voting after averaging 142 total yards and almost a touchdown per game. He rattled off 200 yards in a Divisional Round win over the Rams and if he posts anything close to that stat line in the Super Bowl, Saquon will win this award.
Super Bowl MVP Deep Sleeper: Isiah Pacheco (+12000)
Pacheco has not been amazing since returning from injury for the Chiefs. But this is a playoff performer. In his last five playoff games before this season, the KC RB averaged 90 total yards per game with four touchdowns in that stretch.
Playing for the Chiefs helps, of course, as he’s got as good of a shot as any skill position player at making the Super Bowl — there’s a reason Kansas City has the best Super Bowl odds among all AFC teams (+200). If KC can get to the big game again this season, I think Pacheco will be a lot closer to +500 to win this award. At that point, you can cash out or let it ride.
Jayden Daniels Is Bad Super Bowl MVP Value
I’m not sure Daniels is a smart bet at this point. He’s currently +800 to win the Super Bowl MVP while the Commanders are +800 to win the Super Bowl. If JD is going to win this award, he’ll need his team to win the championship. But, the commies Can snatch the Lombardi without Daniels taking MVP.
So, if you’re sold on a Commanders title, why not just bet on Washington to win the Super Bowl? It’s the smarter play.

Super Bowl MVP Betting Trends
There’s a reason the top of Super Bowl 59 MVP odds is filled with quarterbacks. They dominate the history of this award, but betting trends show the passers don’t always win MVP:
- Quarterbacks have won the award in six of the last eight Super Bowls & four of the last five
- New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman is the largest longshot to win Super Bowl MVP over the last 20 seasons, at +2200 odds
- Eight wide receivers have won Super Bowl MVP, with two of those coming in the last six years
- Five of the last eight Super Bowl MVP’s have had odds of +187 or lower heading into the final
- Von Miller, Malcolm Smith, and Dexter Jackson are the only defensive players to win Super Bowl MVP over the last 25 years
- Quarterbacks have won 33 Super Bowl MVPs
- Seven running backs have been awarded Super Bowl MVP
- Four linebackers have won the award
- Only two safeties and defensive ends have taken home the Super Bowl MVP trophy
