The New Yorkers have stumbled after putting together a gorgeous nine-game winning streak, losing five of the last eight. However, they have been solid at home, posting a 13-7 record.
The Minnesota Timberwolves come into the Big Apple with an 11-10 record on the road, but they are starting to heat up, winning five of the last seven away from home.

At this time last year, KAT was working in Minnesota for the Timberwolves. The Wolves sent KAT to the Knicks in October for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and Keita Bates-Diop. Towns had nine fantastic years in Minnesota, winning Rookie of the Year as well as four All-Star appearances. But his status for the game tonight is still up in the air.
Old friends. New jerseys. And getting HUMILIATED at home.
New York flew to Minnesota back in December and PULVERIZED the Timberwolves, 133-107. Winning on the road in the NBA is tough, but winning on the road by 26 points is crazy. And most of the noise in that game, of course, came from KAT. In his first game back at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Towns went NUTZ! He threw down 32 points and had TWENTY boards. He cleaned the glass 17 times on the defensive end and three times on the offensive end. He shot an amazing 10 of 12 from the field, and even more amazing, had a 5-5 PERFECTO from downtown. He also had six assists and 2 steals. Towns is averaging 25.4 points per game the season with almost 14 boards and that’s gonna be tough to replace. Jericho Sims started in his place against the Sixers, logged 23 minutes and managed only eight points. Precious Achiuwa stepped in for Sims, played 30 minutes and finished with 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
This will be another showcase for Ant, Anthony Edwards, at the ‘Mecca.’ The last time Edwards stepped on to the floor at the Garden, he was on fire, filling up the stat sheet with 35 points. This kid is made for the big moments and it doesn’t get any bigger than NYC. Donte DiVincenzo also makes his return to New York. Double D only scored 15 points against the NYK in Minny, but has averaged 22 points the last three games.
Minny is on a sweet little 2-1 spread run on the road and looking to avenge that UGLY loss to the Knicks. So, if we can take at least five points with the Wolves, we’ll start howling.

Towns did not play Wednesday night against the 76ers and has a bone chip in his thumb. Apparently, the plan is for KAT to play through the chip and he is considered day-to-day. The Knicks have not given a statement for tonight’s game, but he is expected to return once the swelling goes down.
Minnesota is not reporting any injuries for tonight’s game.
