When Will Ovechkin Break Gretzky’s Record?
Ovechkin’s 29 goals in 41 games put his scoring pace at 0.70 goals per game. If he continues this pace for the remaining 25 games of the season he’d pot another 17.6 goals, breaking the 894 Wayne Gretzky record with a few games to spare. He an even go down to a 0.50 goals per game pace (still well above his career norm) and break the record this season.
I trust Ovechkin and the Capitals to really push for this mark down the stretch, so with Ovi already on pace I think the -174 odds at FanDuel to break Gretzky’s record are a great bet. These odds might continue to move more and more in the minus money, as just two weeks ago they were +190 for Ovi to break the record.
